If you are retiring and have not contacted us, we would like to include you. Please call the office and let us know.
Membership and participation are important. We look forward to seeing you and ask that you bring a new member with you. New members can join by email, or sign up at the door.
We want to thank all of the participants in our recent election of HASA officers for 2013-14.
We had a great group of candidates, all whom would have served HASA in an outstanding manner.
Congratulations to the following 2013-2014 HASA Officers:
President: Connie Berger
President Elect: Alan Summers
Immediate Past President: Mark White
VP Membership: Kimberly Hobbs
VP Public Relations: Walter Smith
VP Programs: Mike Walker
Treasurer: Kerry Hamilton
Secretary: Kimberly Agnew
Parliamentarian: To Be Announced (by appointment)
We will be planning another Administrators seminar with A+. Last year it was very successful.
Please help HASA to sign up new members for the 2013-14 school year. Send in names and we will contact them.
Please review the minutes from the Consultation meetings and contact us if you have any concerns or issues you would like HASA to present.
The Houston Association of School Administrators (HASA) was founded in 1971 with the purpose of improving the quality of education in the Houston Independent School District, promoting the welfare of public school students and school personnel, and obtaining for members the benefits of an independent professional organization of school administrators. HASA membership was to be composed of administrators, supervisors, and those individuals whose job descriptions included administrative/support duties. For your review, HASA has listed all the past HASA presidents and the years they served. I think you will find it interesting.

MESSAGE TO
MEMBERS
from Mark White,
2012-2013 HASA President |
November 8, 2012
Dear Colleagues,
HASA takes great pride in being your local professional organization. Apart from arranging networking opportunities for our membership, we are of course dedicated to raising your concerns to the proper ears at the district administration building regarding a variety of concerns. The Board appreciates your communication as it continuously informs us of the issues we need to keep on the radar as we work towards a successful year for all of our members.
During the course of the year HASA participates in confidential consultations with numerous members and advises them on next steps regarding employment issues. At times it is necessary to refer cases to our legal counsel which your HASA membership dues help to cover.
We are interested in hearing about additional services that we can provide as we plan for a successful Spring.
Mark White
